VERY VERY cute and underrated supermarket in Koreatown. Why? Because free parking!! I came with friends to explore the supermarket, try the kimbap, and hangout at the courtyard upstairs and it was a very fun experience. We got the beef kimbap which I thought was not bad, but not amazing. It was a little dry, but tasty nonetheless. The supermarket has your run of the mill items - and there's some restaurants inside as well! Upstairs, there's more shops, food court, and an outdoor area to eat and chill with your friends. Highly recommend that you check this place out!
The thing that distinguishes California Market from the rest of the many, many other Korean markets in the area or any markets in general, is that it's open until MIDNIGHT!! Other than that, it's your typical Korean market, and you can find most items you would expect to find at a Korean market.
The place has undergone a lot of changes since I first visited back in late 90s. Entrance to the store is bit weird, but they got all your needs. There's a small food court in the back corner of the building, as well as other snack and tea shops at the 3rd floor as well.
Very fresh produce with a lot of variety. Also great food stands within the market! The crab kimbap is our favorite.
great place for free parking! i like the food options and they also have a tous les jours! p small but still a good place for bread, i got the melona cream bread and some groceries as well.
Clean, open, organized layout with helpful staff. They have parking. I can't get over how this place has changed for the better. I remember the old market before it was renovated.
This is my favorite Korean market to go to mostly out of habit but there is so much that I enjoy getting here. It's also very clean and has good American options when you need them (it's annoying to have to go to multiple supermarkets in a day sometimes). The prices aren't bad and there is basically everything that I need. I also love the fact that the parking situation is easy to navigate as it does not require a ticket to get in and out.
A good Korean grocery store - big, a lot of variety, great prices, friendly staff, and a great deli/prepared foods section. Parking is a bit cramped and SUPER busy, but there is a food court on the top floor which is why I was here. Got some groceries on the way out. Would come again if in the area.
